If you are a first home buyer, you will benefit from the government’s first
home owner grant and stamp duty savings of 40% on the cost of your land.
The grant is not means-tested and is available to those building or buying a new
home, provided that the price of the home does not exceed $750,000.
The Victorian State Revenue Office administers the grant with the help of a number of banks and lending institutions that are approved agents.
A payment of $10,000 is available for eligible first home buyers to build or purchase a new home.
In order to receive the grant you must satisfy various eligibility requirements. Furthermore, only certain types of transactions are eligible to receive the grant.
